Class materials

Assistants are expected to work 12 hours a week in class and dedicate 13 hours to personal study, preparation of lessons and teaching materials for a total workload of 25 hours a week. TAs can always rely on the help of the teacher in charge of the class who will always be physically present and ready to give support and advice. The topics to be developed in class are generally agreed upon with the teachers. TAs are expected to work either with English teachers - in this case they will basically do conversation and culture- or with teachers of subjects such as Geography, History, Math, Science doing what in Europe are known as CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning) classes. Here you can find some examples of class materials prepared by former TAs illustrating these two different kinds of classes.
